How will we end the week?
Corn and soybeans are trading slightly lower overnight after a mixed finish yesterday with corn off a little and soybeans 10 cents higher. They are both trying to trade back to pre-report levels. We will start to get a better feel for yields as harvesting picks up in the next couple of weeks. The crops are shrinking, and we expect national yields to continue to drop but unless we see some better export demand for corn it will be hard to outpace these big acres. That does not mean corn will break through major support at 4.74 but it will struggle to rally. Soybeans have more upside potential and with any confirmation of lower yields than the USDA will likely rally futures. We will continue to watch planting progress/weather in SA as they ramp up planting with mostly dry conditions. For today, we will use 4.74 & 13.47 for support and 4.85 & 13.73 as resistance.
