High winds and rain across the Central Corn Belt
High winds and rain across the Central Corn Belt
Overnight- Corn and soybeans slightly higher and wheat slightly lower.
Some extreme weather moved across E IA. Northern half of IL and IN last night.
High winds and downpour rains caused scattered wind damage and flooding.
It is doubtful that enough damage was done to cause a rally in the markets, but we need something to give us a little spark.
We had a record soybean crush for June with 175.6 million bushels. We keep seeing record monthly crushes except for April and we remain inverted in the futures market. If we could see a decent run of export business, we could see the market turnaround.
The Black Sea continues to suffer from dryness and heat during corn pollination.
Bottomline
We will see if we get any kind of bounce to start the day after the extreme weather from last night, but we have missed out on a weather market so far. We have not tried to kill the crop once this year and has left us without marketing opportunities during the early summer. NFC Grain Comments Options -new (83)
