Black Sea Transport Increases
Ukrainian ferry company Ukrferry is resuming services between Chornomorsk and Batumi in Georgia after a halt due to the Russian invasion. This move will provide Kyiv with direct access to the Caucasus and Central Asia markets. The ferry service, scheduled to start on July 9th, will bypass the Russian-occupied Crimea peninsula and carry various types of cargo and passengers. However, Black Sea transport has been on and off again, and a renewed corridor opened by Ukraine in the western Black Sea will facilitate increased grain and metals exports entering the global market and potentially ease some supply concerns.
